Life just sounds like a bunch of fun back home this last summer. I´m glad you´ve all had a good time and have done a ton of stuff. mckay looks like a true Cali Surfer bum hahaha, never seen that long of hair on that boy. Enjoy your long hair while you have it.
So I went and got my kid on Tuesday. it was crappy saying goodbye to Elder Weston, but it´s all good cuz I´m happy to be training. My new comp`´s name is Elder Glazier. he´s actually cousins with a kid that i went to school with, Kyle Glazier. He was on my soccer and flag football teams when we were younger haha. He´s another big, tall kid like elder weston. He has a really dry sense of humor and when he first got here he was really quiet, but we´ve tried hard to help him feel welcome and he´s really opened up and cracks me up sometimes with things that he says in the street. It´s always fun having a newby cuz everything is soo new for them and they ask about everything. i love his desire to learn and that he looks to me as a teacher (it makes me feel big and important haha) He has a great work ethic and a really good attitude, even when i get frustrated with people giving us excuses for not letting us in their houses, he lifts me back up haha he´s a great kid. We had a rough first week. It was a nice ¨welcome to Chile¨ week for him with lots of rain and lots of knocking doors but little success. We knocked more doors without getting new investigators than i think i´ve done in my whole mission. It was similiar to when i was training Elder Conley in Tomé and we really struggled finding new investigators. We´re going to focus a lot on finding this week and helping our investigators that we have continue progress and come to church.
Nicolas was confirmed on Sunday, so that was really good. We also had another investigator come to church, Mariela, who´s progressing really well and should be baptized on the 28th. her husband is a member, who about 5 years ago went inactive. He recently has seen all the blessings that he has in his lifea nd wanted to come back to
God to show him how grateful he is. They´ve both organized their lives after getting married a little over a year ago, adn now they want to become unified in the gospel. They´re way awesome and we´re happy for them. Pray that Mariela can have the confidence to complete with her baptismal date. With all other investigators, there were various reasons why they didn´t come to church, and we were dissapointed with them, but we went by all of them after church to find out why they didn´t come. We committed them to coming next week, so we should see more success there.
I´m having a good time trainging, and i´m really happy that God has given me this opportunity. It´s helping me stay on the ground and continue learning everyday and striving to be a good example for my son. He´s a great kid and i know that we´re going to have success this transfer. By the way I´m 3 away from completing my baptismal goal that I set for myself,so pray that we can help those that we have to progress towards baptism and receive the blessings of the restored gospel!!
