Changes in Molina

Sounds like we’re sharing weather patterns haha. Now I don’t feel so bad for myself knowing that it’s cold and rainy back home too. This week actually was really warm and sunny...up until today. It rained way hard all night last night and is still raining, and it’s cold.

So things are changing around here. First off Elder Reynolds is heading down to Concepción to be Zone Leader and finish his mission there. I’m bummed cuz we got along way well, but it’s okay because change often brings blessings. My new comp is named Elder Lopez and was actually in my last zone in Talca. He’s from Honduras and so his spanish is a little bit different, and he doesn’t speak very clearly. There’s good for me from this news. First off it’s a blessing that I’m getting a Spanish speaking comp, because my Spanish has gotten a lot worse being with a gringo comp. You just don’t speak nearly as much Spanish when you don’t have to. Now I will be speaking Spanish 24/7 without relief.

Okay, so as far as our investigators go, we have some good ones, but the progress is slow. Camilo was not baptized last week. It’s been really hard to get on a teaching schedule with him, so our visits have always been at a bad time where he’s either busy or not there. He hasn’t been reading the Book of Mormon, and when we taught the word of wisdom, all he wanted to know was, why? and where does this commandment come from? Is it in the Bible? So we challenged him to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet. We don’t really know how he’s been doing with that, cuz we’ve passed three times by his house without being to share anything very long. He did come to church on Sunday, which was a pleasant surprise. So there’s still hope there. We also met his other brother who told us that he has been listening to us teach his family and that he’s interested in being taught as well. We have the confidence of the whole family, it’s just that they’re not completing with their part in order to gain that testimony. Frustrating, but the story of any mission. Katherine´s still way awesome, she’s been bringing her whole family to have us teach them, and her husband told her that he wants to attend church with them. They weren’t able to come yesterday cuz her mom was way sick and so they had to go and take care of her, but she is very enthusiastic and willing to do what we ask her. We’ve found a few other people here and there, but still nothing very promising on the horizon. We found out some really good and bad news about Gustavo. First off his mom is getting baptized next week, good news! The bad news is that he never told us that he was married before; he’s 19 so we didn’t think to ask him, and so we called him and asked if he was married. he told us no, and so we called the Elders up where he’s living now and told them they can confirm him this week. They went through the baptismal questions again with him and he told them that he really was married...crap. He currently is dating a member of the church, and so now that is considered adultery. Anyways the mission president up there called us and told us he’ll have to get divorced from his wife (who’s a complete psycho) and then be re baptized. Disheartening to say the least, but he’s a good kid and hopefully he can do all he needs to do and be baptized. Sooooo a week of ups and downs, and I’m a little bit nervous to see what this next transfer will bring haha. I’m looking very forward to Zone Conferences where I’ll get your package, and hopefully Aubrey´s package she sent will finally get here, if it doesn’t it is lost in the world. Anyways I love you all and thank you for your love, prayers, emails, support, and everything else.
